Dancer, Vik White, Uses His Platform to Raise Money for Aid in Ukraine

STILLWATER, OK (PAR)- Ukraine and Stillwater native Vik White has made a name for himself in the world of dance but his ambitions have gone beyond the world he knows with the invasion of his home country.

Slavik Pustoyoitov is his real name, (Vik White is his stage name), has made a name for himself on social media and his So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) appearance in season 15, clutching a finalist position. His dedication to always becoming a better dancer from his trials on SYTYCD has amassed 2.3 million followers on Instagram and 5.1 million on Tik Tok.

He had spent some time growing up in Ukraine and had his beginnings of seeing some people dance on TV and he had to be just like them. He would dance on the street with his friends getting better.

He came to Stillwater, Oklahoma when he was in grade 8 and joined the dance studio showstoppers training in hip hop style.

His time in the United States has been good to him so far but the intense political climate between Ukraine and Russia has turned into war while far away from his home.

His father is a mayor of a town in Ukraine and the fighting had intensified as time went on. Mr. PustovoytovUkraine had asked if there was any organization that could help send money to send humanitarian upplies and territorial defenses to where he was fighting.

Vik White had attempted to find others that could help set up his fund to help his father but he could not find help, so he created the fund himself through a website.

He used his social media as a platform to give exposure to his fund and going on the Ellen Show to give light to the war of his people on Tv.

“It means help for not just my dad but everyone who’s going to receive the supplies through this money.”

White did get the exposure he needed to get money and he had raised over $100,000 dollars to send back to his father. Vik White had also had a big name donor to help break the $150,000 dollar mark with their donation. He also gives an explanation on his website.

“I used givesendgo.com which works like Gofundme. After I made $100,000 dollars within the first 24 hours and later, few like Israel Adesanya donated big portions that filled up the over $150,000 dollar mark.”

Israel Adesanya is a champion in multiple combat sports like kickboxing, boxing and MMA and is world renowned as a celebrity. Vik White had successfully helped his father and country with his efforts on his own volition. As I asked if Vik had anything to say to Putin, he had this to say.

“I have no comments for Putin other than victory belongs to Ukraine.”
